New Inquirers/Catechumen Classes to Begin September 13th!
Classes Ideal for Those Wanting to Learn More about the Life, Faith and History of the Orthodox Church!
Have you ever asked yourself the question, "What in the world is the Orthodox Church?" Perhaps you live in Morris and have walked by the Chapel and wondered, "What actually goes on in there?" Recently there was a New York Times article entitled, "Orthodox Pews Are Overflowing with Converts!" Perhaps you are one of those who have wondered, "Why?"
Beginning Sunday, September 13th, and continuing for 5 Sundays, we will be having an InquirerCatechumen Class for all those wanting to discover what in the world the Orthodox Church is, or who desire to become catechumens, as well as for those who are already Orthodox, but have not yet taken the Catechumen class who desire to grow in the Faith!
The Catechumen Class will begin at 1 PM each Sunday after Divine Liturgy at 9 and trapeza (brunch). The month's schedule will be as follows:
- September 13th: Introduction to Orthodoxy in America
- September 20th: God and how He reveals Himself
- September 27th: Creation, the Fall, and Recreation in Christ
- October 4th: The Church and the Sacraments
- October 11th: Following God as an Orthodox Christian in the World Today
After the conclusion of the classes, there will be an opportunity for those desiring to become Catechumens to meet together with Fr. Photie individually for further studies and preparation for Holy Baptism.
