The 7 Holy Youths Celebrate Their Summer Feast Day!

A Joyous Celebration of the 7 Holy Youths of Ephesus!

The family of the Orthodox Chapel of the 7 Holy Youths of Ephesus celebrated their summer Feast day on Sunday, August 16th. The celebration marked the 5th anniversary of His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion's visit to the mission just before his repose on May 16th, 2022. By God's good grace, there was also a new high in attendance for the mission of 50. Glory to God! We give thanks to God for each one who came, including Deacons Andrew and Theodotus. There was also a special presentation of the icon of the 7 Holy Youths given to Reader John and Theodora in appreciation for the amazing and sacrificial service to the mission.

The Seven Holy Youths of Ephesus have two Feast Days: one in August and the second in October/November. Their summer Feast Day which we celebrated this August, commemorates their first martyric deaths under the Roman Emperor Decius in AD 250. Their fall Feast Day, commemorating their second repose (Yes, you read that correctly!) under Theodosius the Younger in AD 450, will be celebrated this year on Wednesday, November 4th (October 22, Church Calendar).
