The Chapel Celebrates Its 7 Year Anniversary with Bishop Luke!
The Fall Feast Day highlighted by a new attendance high of 60!
On this past November 4th's Feast Day of the Orthodox Chapel of the 7 Holy Youths of Ephesus, the Mission marked its 7th anniversary by welcoming Bishop Luke of Syracuse and Abbot of Holy Trinity Monastery in Jordanville, NY. In addition, we were blessed to welcome back to the Chapel Abbot Vasileios, Hmk. Silouan and Hmk. Zosimas from St. Dionysios Monastery on Long Island. The Hierarchical Liturgy was also celebrated with Deacons Paisius and Andrew, along with Subdeacon Tikhon and Monk Dimitrius of Jordanville.
We give thanks to God for His extraordinary Providence which has been with us, and sustained and abundantly blessed us throughout these past 7 years since Metropolitan Hilarion began this mission in 2019. The culmination of these blessings has been the receiving of the Otrada Mother of God Iconostasis from the Otrada Mother of God Chapel in Chestnut Ridge, New York this past September, and now the celebration of our 7 year Feast Day on November 4th with Bishop Luke.
In his homily, Bishop Luke exhorted us to continue the good work God has begun here by not being faint hearted, but courageous, as were the 7 Holy Youths of Ephesus! He encouraged us to realize that these great blessings that God has given to us as a mission are not the end, but rather the beginning of seeing all of Morris, New York and America become Orthodox!
Although a week day, we were so thankful that a number of our catechumens and other members of the Mission were able to take the day off in order to join us for this great event. All together, we give thanks to God for the 60 people who were able to join us, breaking the previous attendance high of the 50 people who came to our Summer Feast Day. Glory to God!
Below are some of the pictures taken on our Feast day.
